Cultural Effects of Media Communications



Media communications technology has influenced culture in respect to how we communicate and interact as a society.  The cultural effects are wide-ranging and can influence our values, beliefs, and behaviors.  Digital media has had a significant impact on culture as it has created new forms of entertainment and art, emerging with new cultural norms and societal values.  Digital media has also allowed use to easily create digital content, such as videos, imagery, and blog posts.  

Connecting to others globally on social media has allowed us to better understand cultures from around the world.  This same media has also led to a change in the way we communicate with each other. Digital media has developed cultural aspects of how we share thoughts, how we connect with others, how we disseminate important information and opinions, and how we learn about new things. Digital media has had negative implications as it has made it possible for some of us to disconnect from people from leading to a greater risk of introversion.  Social media platforms have a significant impact on public opinion and social discourse due to user-generated content.  The cultural effects of media communications are significant and can be a way to promote positivity.

Technology has transformed our communication habits giving us different methods for connecting socially and how we manage communications professionally.  Various technologies allow us to conduct business more efficiently, collaborate on projects, and maintain workplace relationships.  Media technology has impacted cultural norms and values of societal in general. The emergence of technology has led to a culture of innovation, expediency, versatility, and adaptability.  Social media has allowed marginalized groups the opportunity to advocate for social change on a global platform.  Digital technology connects people across diverse cultures, fostering inclusivity.  New media technology can provide access to resources, promote tolerance, and offer other essential services to various communities.
